Service to others and working for justice is firmly rooted in the Benedictine tradition. We challenge our students to think beyond their own circumstances and develop empathy and compassion for others.

Our efforts focus on supporting our local and global community as well as Good Samaritan initiatives including volunteer work, fundraising and participating in local events.

Students can join the Making a Difference (MAD) Social Justice club or become involved in a number of whole-school initiatives including St Vincent de Paul Winter and Christmas Appeals, Project Compassion, homework help for children from displaced families, and the Gift Cook program among others.

Immersions and Tours

Every year, students are invited to step beyond the comfort of their own homes to gain insights into the lives of others not as privileged as themselves. These could include:

• Mater Dei in Camden, our Good Samaritan Sister School catering for students with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.
• A remote Indigenous community.
• Manila and Bacolod City in the Philippines as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Students participate in the work of the Sisters at the Good Samaritan Kinder School and Community Centre (10 days).
