Inclusive Learning
As a non-selective school, Stella welcomes students of all academic abilities.
To cater for the learning needs of students requiring additional support, a team of specialist educators from our Inclusive Learning department work with our teachers in the classroom, particularly to improve literacy and numeracy skills.
Inclusive Learning staff also work closely with our school psychologists and external professionals to cater for the individual needs of students.
Services provided by the Inclusive Learning team include:
- In-class support
- Diagnostic screening
- The development of Individual Adjustment Plans (IAP’s)
- Targeted intervention plans
- Parent information sessions
- Professional development sessions to enhance teacher skills and understanding
- Assistance with the modification of curriculum and assessment
- Learning transition programs
- Collaborative planning and liaising with teachers, students, parents and outside professionals
- Disability Provisions Applications for the Higher School Certificate
- Collection of data to access Commonwealth funding (NCCDSWD)
