Co-ordinator of Duke of Edinburgh Award
This week in the Duke of Edinburgh Award, 41 girls stepped up their Gold Adventurous Journey, upgrading from Royal National Park to an adventurous hike and paddle in Kangaroo Valley. The girls will be paddling and walking from the 6 - 9 March. For students, please make sure that you are attending the meetings at lunch to get more information on what you will need to bring.
Year 9 students have also been introduced to the Duke of Ed program in their year meeting recently. It was great to see so many enthusiastic students at the prospect of this new opportunity. For those girls who are interested in knowing more, the Duke of Ed team would love to see many of your faces at our after-school training session on March 10 from 3:30 - 6:00pm.
Another exciting update is the upcoming Snowy Mountains hike for the girls looking to complete their Silver Award. Past years have found this hike to be an extremely memorable and fulfilling adventure, so it would be amazing to get involved. Just a reminder to the girls thinking of going on this trip to keep an eye out for emails from the Duke of Ed team for details on the lunchtime meetings to prep for this hike.
If students have any issues, questions or Award suggestions, the Duke of Ed team are available for 'in person' Award assistance every Tuesday or students are free to email.
